Helianthus annuus – sunflower ‘Double Delight’
DESCRIPTION:Â Dwarf variety, ideal for pots and borders. Hardy and compact with masses of large golden-yellow double flowers on branched stems. Pollen free.
PLANTING:Â Spring to early Summer. Plant in a sunny spot directly into garden beds or pots, apply a generous layer of soil, gently pat down and keep moist. Prefers free draining soil.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and during dry periods. Add a slow release fertiliser on planting and follow up with liquid fertiliser applied weekly for best results. Plants may become top heavy when in full flower, use a stake if needed to support the stem. Birds love to feed on the seeds from the spent flowers.
